My favorite good, cheap goto switch

Lubed and filmed; these are pretty great. Stock; a teensy bit of spring ping and a pretty scratchy, higher pitched sound.

Gateron Milky Yellow Switches

You may have heard that Gateron Yellows are the perfect budget switches. Well, that is correct! I decided to get the milky version because I discovered that they are basically the exact same switch as their regular 3-pin yellow switches, but the sound is a bit different. The milky switches have a slightly deeper "thock" sound that I enjoy more.

These switches are perfect if you take the time to lube them. I recommend Krytox 205g0, which Kebo sells on this website as well for a good price. Gateron's milky switches only come in 5-pin version, but that's perfectly fine if you have a 3-pin board because you can use nail clippers or flush cutters to snip off the 2 plastic pins on the bottom. This does not damage the switch, it simply converts them from 5-pin to 3-pin switches without affecting how they feel or sound.

Make sure you buy a few more than you need. I accidentally ruined one but only ordered exactly the amount I needed for my keyboard... so one of my switches doesn't work. They're cheap enough to buy extras!
